Wordless Wednesday: The Best Sleep Ever

The boys cuddled up in our family bed after a long day of Christmas revelry.

Asides

  • Spencer, now 18 months old, snapped one of my pair of hand made size 4.5mm/7US wooden needles. Now I am officially without 4.5mm straights. This is annoying. On the other hand, when I asked him to, he did run to the kitchen and deposit and empty cup into the sink. This is hopeful. Then, as his dad sat down to spend some time in the bathroom, Spencer pulled off his pants and squatted down, grabbing his bum. This is exciting! I got down the old potty chair and stripped the baby down. He experimented with it for a while but it was just that, an experiment. This bodes well for the future, however. Kieran was a late potty trainer. Perhaps Spencer will be early? I can only hope! #
  • Is it so wrong that I've eaten as many candies off of the kid's gingerbread house as they have? And that I purposely didn't use up all the icing so I could eat it - straight? I mean, bad in an ethics way, not a "your ass is already pretty big" kind of way. #
  • Martha Stewart has a blog and she has written about the world of blogging. Check the story out; you won't believe how well Perez Hilton cleans up!  Martha and her team of smart and creative assistants [Hello, smart and creative assistants!] are checking out lots of blogs and will be featuring some on Martha's blog. So, if you want a little Martha love, go check out the blog and get involved. #
  • If you, like me, have a very energetic son who is trying to learn social rules and find his way in the world, you may have heard more than once that your son's rough and tumble play was "aggressive" and should be punished out of him. Here is an alternative view on the "aggressive boy" that sheds light on why that rough and tumble play is important and reminds us that the men in our lives played just the same way as children and they grew up just fine. #
  • In an almost The Secret kinda way, my buddy Thoradora put it out there that someone's old electronics would be welcome in her home, so I'm gonna do a similar thing: If you are getting a new PS3 or a new Mac Laptop and don't really have anything to do with your old PS2 or laptop, my family is in need of one. And, if I had even an old laptop (heck I work on a gigantic old G4 tower with an 8G hd, old doesn't bother me!), I'd be able to post WAAAAAYYYYY more. I'm just putting it out there: I'll take your usable castoffs :) #

Welcome to The Clever Mom

As I have grown as a parent I’ve discovered one thing: kids love projects. Projects have helped my son learn complicated social rules, made academics fun and given us lots of cool things to do together. I started The Clever Mom because I wanted to share all the fun and interesting projects we have done with you and your family.
